Privacy Policy

This website is intentionally quiet: no advertising, no tracking cookies, no third parties, no visitor profiles. Personal data is processed only when you actively send it — through the contact form or a newsletter signup — and only for the purpose you sent it for.

Who is responsible

Controller: pLim/lab (publisher of the pLim W. Switzzer imprint). Contact: through the contact form on this site. The registered postal address is available on request and in the legal notice.

Server logs

Our hosting server records technical access data (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser identifier) in standard server logs. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating and securing the site. Logs are kept briefly for security purposes and are not used to identify visitors.

Contact form

Messages sent through the contact form are received and processed on our own server in Germany — no third-party form service is involved, and your data is not transferred outside the EU. Your name, email address and message are used solely to answer you. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and pre-contractual communication (Art. 6(1)(b)). Messages are deleted when they are no longer needed. Your IP address is stored with the message to prevent abuse, and is deleted together with it.

Newsletter & free pages

If you request the free pack or subscribe, we use your email address to deliver it and to send occasional release notes. We use double opt-in: you receive a confirmation email first, and nothing is sent until you confirm. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Cookies & local storage

This site sets no tracking cookies. It stores at most two small preferences in your browser's local storage (chosen language, quiz progress). These never leave your device and contain no personal data — which is why you see no cookie banner here.

Measurement

We count how the site is used, with software running on our own server. There are no cookies, no local storage, no fingerprinting and no third party: nothing is written to or read from your device, which is why you still see no consent banner. Your IP address is never stored — it is held in memory for a few seconds only, to limit abuse. No visitor identifier is created, so we cannot follow you between pages or between visits: we count events, not people. What is kept is a daily total per page, per language, per device type, per referring domain, and which book links were followed. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in knowing which titles readers care about. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is sent at all.

Embedded content & links

Videos on this site are hosted on our own server — no third-party video platform is loaded. Links to Amazon open Amazon's own pages; from that moment Amazon's privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. A message through the contact form on this site is enough.

Children

This website is aimed at adults (parents, gift-givers and readers). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
